Getting The Game

The game itself is hard but not impossible to find as it's not on any of the retro game portals like GOG due to licensing issues with the FMV content. 

It is totally possile to play on windows 10 and 11 but you need to patch the game - see Modern System Patches. This game can be played reliably on windows 10 & 11 it's been tested and it works. I got the demo running on an M3 Mac running Tahoe so come on.

Modern System Patches

These will patch the game to run on modern systems and include historical game updates

• Trek core downloads for Klingon Academy has a good collection of patches, media and trivia

• Klingonacademy.com patches and downloads, login required and their sign up is geo-locked now so it's a right pain (raw archive no login required) 

Useful Tools

• VoiceBot, Controls the VOS system using voice it's like being in the captains chair, permanent free version

• VoiceAttack, Controls the VOS system needs a paif version to be useful, not that reliable

• JoytoKey Given the lack of joystick and controller support this app will map a gamepad or HOTAS to keyboard allowing more flexibility in gameplay.

Total Conversions

These basically create a new version of the game 

• Next Generation Academy NGA, update the game for TNG ships and systems, a series of mod packs developed for Klingon Academy (KA) to bring it into the TNG (The Next Generation) universe. To do this, the NGA staff has created TNG specs and balanced all ships to these new specs. Many of the ships featured are previous releases that have been modified to meet the TNG specs, others are completely new.

• Romulan Dawn is themed around a Romulan Academy concept. Attend the Elite Command Academy on Romulus, known only to a select few commanders. Situated high in the mountains near the capital city, you will learn deception, cunning and the Romulan way of command. Once you have graduated, engage your Academy techniques in the ultimate story of the Romulan Empire, closing in on its Federation adversaries.

• Nemesis creates a game set around Star Trek Nemesis it includes a lot of new star systems from another pack and has its own runtime and launcher from what i can tell this isn't complete but lots of the related files are lost (discussion) - this mod won't run standalone and is more an archive of the mods it contains - looking for the missing parts.
